After 18 years of operation at Kaļķu Street, the restaurant Kaļķu vārti has moved to Jauniela Street 20/22, its new home since 26 May 2020.
The team of chefs has created a distinctly seasonal menu based on the bounty of produce from Latvia’s countryside, forests and waters. At the core of the menu are high-quality dishes cooked with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. As a result of experimenting with and combining carefully selected ingredients, true delicacies of Latvian origin are created. The 225-metre-long Jauniela Street has a 400-year history steeped in legend, where Peter the Great once walked, where the Vice-Governor of Riga lived, and where Pauline Württemberg, the Queen of the small German kingdom, was born.
